Our Purpose
The general public is under the mistaken idea that the VA takes care of every person who has served in the US military who is unable to take care of them self. Unfortunately, that is not true. The fact is that while the Veterans Administration is trying to take care of all qualified veteran’s and their family’s basic needs by trying to provide services of many different types to veterans and their families, many basic needs are not met for many veterans and their families who are suffering long and severely.
Even with the many individuals and organizations trying to help veterans and their families, many are not able to take advantage of what help is available. For instance, there are several programs available to help veterans get subsidized or financed for decent housing, but many cannot even afford the fees to apply for them, let alone the security deposits or moving costs to take advantage of them. In many cases, it is very difficult to even find out where the few helping hands to guide them or help them can be reached.
The Goal of HUHV© is a very simple one: To provide support and services to Veterans and their families in Idaho that are not, or not readily, available from the Veterans Administration or other organizations in Idaho. We want Veterans and their families in Idaho to be able to easily find and use the help that is available. First, we want be where Vets and their families can go to find what is available. Secondly, if the needed help is not available, and if HUHV© can, by whatever means possible, we want to make them directly available to Vets and their families.
All donations to HUHV© go directly to helping Veterans and their families in the manner stated above. All HUHV© Board Members and workers are volunteers.
